2 Corinthians 1:4 He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. ---- This scripture is very precious to me and came to me in one of the most distressing times in my life. God the Holy Spirit comforts us. The Holy Spirit is in fact referred to as the 'comforter.' When we are going through tough times He comes to us, He ministers to us, He strengthens us. Then He brings us alongside someone else who is going through something similar and He flows through us to minister to them. He ministers to the hurts and the griefs. Then the very thing that could have destroyed you is the very thing that is what you are ministering from and into. Only God. Broken, hurting, griefing? Let the Holy Spirit comfort you. And then get alongside someone else and let Him minister through you. Your pain, and subsequent recovery can minister too many.
Prayer:
Father Thank You for the Holy Spirit, the comforter. Thank You You are a very present Help in time of trouble. Comfort me, help me now, that i might help and comfort others today also in Jesus name amen.
