Ephesians 6:1-15 "Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace."
This current state that the church is in is a crucial moment in history. It's a precious window for readiness. There are freedoms and opportunities that you or I have surely taken for granted, that we now see have quickly been snatched away. It's a shock, but I believe, like an ice cold shower first thing in the morning, it's a wake up call to readiness. We are not blind to what's going on. In fact as christians with the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God, we should be more clued up than anyone. And we know that eventually, Christ will return and the window of mercy, the window of the glorious gospel, the window of harvest, will come to an abrupt end. Whatever time we have left is a precious gift. Whether it's a few years maybe 3, maybe 6 or 10....or more or less...that doesn't matter. What matters is that we are ready to win souls, take oppertunities and be ready for Jesus to come back. Food for thought...
Where do I need to be? And what do I need to be doing? What is God's assignment for my life? What steps do I need to take to get ready? Who can I share Jesus with today/this week? A great thing to do is ask God these things in this time. Ask the Lord for strategy and ideas to get moving forward. It's the most important thing we can be asking today. Have you got the shoes of the gospel on? Prayer:
God please give me the grace to get in position for what You have planned. I want to be in the harvest, and I want to be advancing the kingdom when You return. I want to finish well! In Jesus' name Amen.
