They call him the wanderer

Matt Richards

Proverbs 21:16 A man who wanders out of the way of understanding shall abide in the congregation of the spirits (of the dead). (Amp)

Whoever strays from the path of prudence comes to rest in the company of the dead. Niv ---- There are many, many newspaper stories how hikers and explorers have wondered off the main path and ended up dead. Two years ago on Christmas eve IT manager of Southrise, Cardiff walked off the Watkins Path of Snowdon and wandered onto the peak's east ridge. He subsequently fell to his death. If only he had stuck to the narrow, yet well sign posted path. Time after time people die when they decide to go their 'own way.' When they think they know best. Jesus says He is the way (the truth and life) and the bible says 'the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.' So many times i see people wander off the path of life. They take shortcuts in their devotional life. Their job, success or money makes them distracted and stray off course. They end up with the wrong girlfriend or boyfriend that takes them on the wrong path. They get deceived into doctrines or beliefs not in the bible and before long they find themselves lost. And if they don't watch out they are on the east ridge and facing shipwreck or death. You know when i do things my way; not Gods way i end up lost, out of cover, open and vulnerable. You know in an attempt to 'find yourself', or look for shortcuts don't end up as a wanderer. Its dangerous to be a wanderer. Be rooted in church, be rooted in the bible.Stick to the narrow path it truly works. Prayer:

Father thank You that you order my steps, thank You that Your Word is a lamp unto my path. Forgive me for drifting off the path, help me to stay on track. Help me Holy Spirit to be planted, safe and on the narrow path in Jesus name amen.
