Time To Seek The Lord: Holy Cravings (Part 4)

2 Chronicles 15:1-2 THE SPIRIT of God came upon Azariah son of Oded. And he went out to meet Asa and said to him, Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him, craving Him as your soul’s first necessity], He will be found by you; but if you [become indifferent and] forsake Him, He will forsake you.

You know sometimes we want people to know Salvation, to know Jesus so much we make it too easy.

What do I mean by that? Well we don't let the Holy Spirit convict them, draw them in, we don't let them seek God and go after Him for themselves. They are indifferent.

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)

'If you look for him he will let himself be found,' (MSG)

People need to have a desire to seek, to look for God. Because when they do, He will be found.

There's just something about desiring, seeking, searching, going after, and pursuing God.

We need Holy Cravings. When people have habits, have addictions, they have an appetite for something, albeit that will harm them, but it becomes an obsession.

There are withdrawals if they don't maintain their lifestyle. They will go on a mission to get their fix. Their life rotates, even if illegally to feed their desire, their craving.

Unlike many addictions, some cravings are good for you. Oh for a people that sought, craved Jesus the same as an addiction. Where it's all about Jesus as our souls first necessity.

I can't function without Jesus.

When I get up in the morning it's what I'm thinking about, when I go to bed it's what I'm talking about and in the middle of the day He's my joy and focus.

Oh to have Holy Cravings.

This morning I got up with a desire, an urge, a craving just to be with Jesus.

Have you become indifferent?

It's so easy to let distractions, pressures and sin block your God appetite. Ask Him now to give you again: Holy Cravings.

Prayer:

Father I have become cold and indifferent forgive me. Holy Spirit renew my passion, give me Holy Cravings that as the deer pants for the water my soul might long for you again in Jesus' name amen.
