John 18:25 Meanwhile, Simon Peter was back at the fire, still trying to get warm. The others there said to him, "Aren't you one of his disciples?"He denied it, "Not me."
Here Simon Peter had been following Jesus at a distance. He finds himself trying to get warm sitting by someone else's fire. He then denies he even knows Jesus.
Once you've tasted the real thing, the Fire of God you are ruined for normal life.
Be careful who you hang around; where you get comfort or passion. You see you may try to warm yourself on the world's fire,but it will never comfort, or truly satisfy.
You will be forever trying to get warm.But it will never be enough. It will never do it. And worse than that, you can lose your faith.
It just won't do it friend. That old fire, that old life won't replace the Fire of God.
Have you walked away from Jesus?
Did you use to burn with Holy Fire?
Don't go back to old flames,old fires.
Run back to Jesus and the Fire that satisfies. Come home.
Prayer:
Father forgive me for walking away. Forgive me for being a bad example and being ashamed of You Jesus. I realise only You can bring true satisfaction. I return to You again, wash me in Your blood and restore me. Let me know Your Fire today in Jesus' Name, Amen.
